Before you fire up the grill and ice down those beverages I pray you will take a moment to remember the brave men and women who paid the ultimate price to protect our liberty and secure the nation.  There is a Bible verse from Leviticus that is inscribed on the Liberty Bell, "Proclaim Liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof,” That was the spirit of America at the time of its founding and it is that spirit which compels brave men and women to step forward to protect our freedom to this day.

My wife and I had the opportunity to attend a workshop Saturday conducted by Liberty Counsel regarding Religious Freedom in Public Schools.  The attendees included teachers, parents and grandparents.  I was particularly happy to see School Board Member Barbara Berry and District General Counsel, Jon Fishbane in attendance.  Their commitment to the school district was evident by their participation and the helpful insight they provided during the workshop.

The radical secularists would have you believe that we were not founded upon Judeo/Christian principles because the Constitution steers clear from stating such a connection.  However, they conveniently ignore the Declaration of Independence which stands as a foundational document of the nation.  The Declaration makes it very clear that our Creator is the source of our unalienable rights.  It acknowledges Nature’s God and it closed by seeking the protection of Devine Providence in the endeavor to achieve Independence.

If politicians and their laws facilitate cultural and spiritual decay should Christians step forward to challenge those laws?  Should Christians stand outside the political process or participate? 

On Wednesday, February 22nd (George Washington's birthday), World Changers distributed nearly 2,000 free Bibles at 10 Orange County area high schools.  Approximately 26 local volunteers from three area churches joined the effort and helped make it a success.  At many of the high schools the entire supply was exhausted during the first lunch period.  School administrators asked that more Bibles be brought next year.  We need your financial support to make this an even bigger success next year.  Please hit the Donate link to make a tax deductible contribution.

On Wednesday, January 18^th, Collier County recognized National Religious Freedom Day (schools were closed on January 16^th to observe Martin Luther King Day).  World Changers of Florida used this occasion to distribute 800 free Bibles at eight public high schools in Collier.  Twenty-four volunteers participated in the program.  World Changers would like to thank school officials for their cooperation and hospitality which helped make the event a success.
